Born and raised in the Washington DC area by a vastly musical family, Cat took to violin and piano at an early age. What followed was 18 years of classical training, with valuable time spent as part of orchestral productions, jazz bands and theatre shows. The D.C. music world would soon embrace the young artist as both a pop sensation and a writer/producer to watch that diversity flourish all the more so.

In 2019, Cat took home the Washington Area Music Award for Best Rock Artist in the DC metropolitan area, and in 2020 her single ‘Pricey’ featured in the hit Netflix show ‘Selling Sunset’. Also noting features on ABC, Cat is an active member of the GRAMMY Recording Academy, and in 2020 began her Environmental Initiative ‘Love Earth A Little More’, as part of the Global Environment Media.

Cat’s lust for life was infectious. Singles like the uplifting ‘Love Warning’, and the unforgettable summer anthem ‘Crypto Kids’, have lit up the airwaves globally, uniting heartfelt lyrics and electrifying production to powerful results. As such, her debut EP promises a breadth of understanding, alongside optimistic, catchy grooves and faultless performances – shining further light on the unstoppable creative force that is the unmistakable Cat Janice.

Though Cat’s energy and passion seem unparalleled, her life has not been without difficulties. In 2022, Cat was diagnosed with an ultra-rare sarcoma cancer. The creative was fearlessly transparent about her battle. The release of her debut album “Modern Medicine” in 2023 delved into both the struggles and successes of that journey. Her music and social media posts alike took the open road, connecting on an unrivaled level thanks to absolute sincerity and soul.

On January 19th 2024, Cat released her highly anticipated yet final song “Dance You Outta My Head”. The single was an instant viral hit taking the #1 spot on TikTok. With press placements in The Washington Post, People Magazine, The LA Times, and The New York Times, the story spread even further when she revealed that all the proceeds would go to her 7 year old son, Loren.

In the wake of new found success through “Dance You Outta My Head”, Cat tragically lost her battle to cancer, passing away on February 28th, 2024 leaving all the rights to her music with her son, Loren. While her legacy lives on through her music, we can all agree that her truest legacy is him.
